We had always been hearing from our forefather’s that early morning workout is a healthy step towards our lifestyle. But today breathing in a fresh air in the morning is not at all a healthy step that one use to consider earlier. As per The World Health Organization (WHO), pollution is the fifth leading cause of death in India, after high blood pressure and tobacco smoking. WHO says Delhi’s air quality is worse than Beijing. But now it’s time to take an individual steps and hence here let’s discover some tips to protect against the smog or air pollution.

But you can take some easiest and the healthiest steps or tips to protect against the smog or air pollution. I had categorized this blog into 3 parts:

1] Steps to be taken in everyday life.

2] Nutrients that will help you fight against air pollution or smog .

3] Recipes of some detox water/herbal tea.

So, first let’s find the tips to protect against the smog or air pollution:

  2. Plant Indoor or make a small garden indoor so as to purify the indoor air and make it pollution-free.
  3. Avoid doing workout outside as working out makes your breathing heavier and the more you breath heavier the more particles enter into the body. If the pollution level is better, it is better to stay indoor.
  4. If you are asthmatic, always carry your inhaler.Inhaler for the asthmatic patients
  5. Don’t burn wood or trash, as it makes the environment more polluted.
  6. Don’t smoke or allow anyone to smoke near you.
  7. Limit driving personal vehicles rather use public transport or carpool.

A healthy immune system is the best defense to fight against microbes, bacteria and viruses. To make it healthy one has to balance the bacteria in a right quantity and quality.

1] Lemon-Ginger-Honey-Mint Detox water

Ingredients:

  • Lemon – 1 thinly sliced
  • Ginger – 1/2 grated
  • Honey – 2 tbsp
  • Mint leaves – 8-10 leaves
  • Ice cubes
  • Water – 3-4 L

Method:

  • In a large pitcher, add all the ingredients.
  • Soak it over-night.
  • Drink this water throughout the day, by refilling it with water.

2] Stress relieving Detox Water

Ingredients:

  • Strawberries – 5 to 6
  • Pineapple – 1/2 cup
  • Apple cider vinegar – 1 to 2 tsp
  • Basil leaves – 4 to 5
  • Ice cubes
  • Water – 3-4 L

Method:

  • In a large pitcher, add all the ingredients.
  • Soak it over-night.
  • Drink this water throughout the day, by refilling it with water.detox water

3] Mater Cleanse Detox Water

Ingredients:

  • Lemon Juice : 2 tbsp
  • Organic maple syrup : 2 tbsp
  • Cayenne pepper : 1/2 tsp
  • Sea Salt : to taste
  • Ice cubes
  • Water – 3-4 L

Method:

  • In a large pitcher, add all the ingredients.
  • Soak it over-night.
  • Drink this water throughout the day, by refilling it with water.

4] Fruit Yogurt

Ingredients:

  • Fresh fruits like apple, pear, oranges, banana
  • Yogurt – 1cup
  • Black salt- to taste

Method:

  • Chop all the fruits.
  • Mix the chopped fruits and the other ingredient in yogurt.

5] Herbal Tea

Ingredients:

  • Type of herbal tea – 1 to 2 tsp
  • Stevia – 1 tablet
  • Water – 50 to 70 ml

Method:

  • Pour the herb leaves in a quart of boiling water and let it steep for up to three minutes.
  • Strain herbs and discard them.
  • Pour the hot tea in a cup and add 1 tablet stevia.

6] Ginger-Lemon Tea

Ingredients:

  • Ginger – 1/2 tsp grated
  • Lemon : 1/2 diced piece
  • Stevia – 1 tablet
  • Water – 50 to 70 ml

Method:

  • Pour the ginger and lemon in a quart of boiling water and let it steep for up to three minutes.
  • Strain and discard them.
  • Pour the hot tea in a cup and add 1 tablet stevia.
